This year the Lagrange Co. 4-H Fair is sponsoring a can food drive and can sculpture contest. The Howe 4-H club members will collect canned food for dogs and cats and collect for Ark. The sculpture will be on display during fair week, July 6-13, and visitors can vote with their change on the best display. The money raised for voting during the fair is going to be donated to the food & clothes basket of laGrange... the cans to build the sculpture go to a charity of the clubs choice (ARK). |
Carol Kirsch, left a retiring teacher from Westview Jr-Sr. High School in Topeka is receiving a check from co-worker Jan Hardesty in honor of her retirement. Kirsch stated, "LaGrange County is fortunate to have such a wonderful organization as Ark. I am happy to have been able to provide an opportunity with my school retirement for my colleagues to be able to donate to such a worthy cause." Kirsch's contribution will help in the funding of Buddy's Buds book. Students from Westview as well as Lakeland and Prairie Heights Schools helped with writing stories for the book. Buddy's book will be available mid June.
